Reading game for children with dyslexia
A research-based game that helps children with dyslexia build early reading skills, with an interface tuned to reduce cognitive load.
Children with dyslexia struggle with dense, fast interfaces, and a reading exercise that feels like homework loses them in minutes. The game had to be easy to read and fun to play, without feeling basic.
I led the designers and worked with 40+ linguists and neuroscientists: readable type and spacing, slower transitions, clear feedback and simple input, wrapped in game mechanics that keep children playing. Prototypes were tested with children and educators.
Children completed tasks 52% faster and spent 38% more time per session. The result: cognitive-safe interaction patterns and a design system ready for real-world use.
UX/UI design: simplified flows, cognitive-safe interaction patterns, design system, prototypes tested with real users.
Designed together with a research team of 40+ scientists
